Made in memory of Alessio “Koeman” Allegri for the Alessio Koeman Allegri Association in collaboration with the SAB Project.
Dolphins were Alessio’s favorite animals, I wanted to represent two of them to recall his skill in various sports and especially in football where he came from and in basketball which has become his great passion. The small fishes those follow the dolphins up close and from afar tell of his commitment to the children and of the love they had for him.
The two basketball players tell of his passion for this fantastic sport and want to convey the competitive spirit and spontaneity of Koemann’s athletic gesture, for this reason I decided to paint them barefoot, perhaps lacking a very technical element of the basketball outfit, but spontaneous and effective. The ball in the center of the field reproduces a large K for “Koeman” as well as the balls planted in the backboards where we find the two dolphins and the legendary number 6.
